New graph: Heart rate zones
We’ve released a new graph on KULG App dashboard: Heart rate zones 🚀🚀🚀
This graph shows the proportion of time a runner spends in each heart rate zone, based on the average heart rate of their activities. This makes it a powerful insight tool for understanding the runner's training intensity and assessing whether the training load is balanced.
The key difference between KULG heart rate zones graph and what other tools provide is that we visualise effort distribution over longer periods of time, not just for a single activity. As with all KULG graphs, there are also no limits to the time frame you can analyse (from a single day to several years), and data can be grouped by daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual intervals.
Why does it matter?
1) Health risk prevention
KULG’s heart rate zones graph helps identify potential risks of overtraining, injury, or other health issues. When most runs are in lower heart rate zones, effort and recovery are better balanced. Spending too much time in higher zones increases physical stress and cardiovascular load, which can lead to performance plateaus or injuries.
2) Aerobic development
HR zones graph also provides insight into the runner's aerobic improvement. When time spent in higher heart rate zones decreases while pace or effort remains steady (or improves), it indicates that the body is performing the same work with greater efficiency, which is a sign of aerobic development.
For us, this new graph is another small step toward making KULG the best running app for personal training insights. Run on!
