Workshop for running coaches and runners: Data-Driven Running

On May 27, KULG is hosting the “Data-Driven Running” workshop for running coaches and athletes, exploring how a data-driven and analytical approach can support training planning and athlete development, aligned with KULG’s mission to make scientific coaching more accessible and transparent.

The workshop is worth 3 EAP credits, will be conducted in Estonian, and takes place at fraqmented (Pikk 7). Participation fee: €20.

Topics we’ll cover in the workshop:

  • AI context in coaching and current challenges for coaches and runners

  • Benefits of data tracking for both athletes and coaches

  • How data influences training decisions in running

  • Limitations of relying on wearable devices alone in training and recovery

  • Importance of combining multiple data sources (multi-layer framework)

  • Key considerations when applying a data-driven approach to training

  • Practical examples of how data can guide training decisions

  • Translating analysis into structured, data-informed training plans

  • Science- and data-based approaches to building training programmes

  • Discussion and exchange of ideas throughout the workshop
